The Alzheimer’s Association-Capital of Texas Chapter is dedicated to enhancing care and support services for individuals and their families while providing leadership to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research.

2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s

We walk in memory of my mom, Dixie Benton Stucky, who passed away in 2013 at age 59, after fighting early onset Alzheimer’s disease for more than 10 years. She was my mentor and my best friend, my shopping buddy and my most trusted advisor.

My family has been blessed to have such overwhelming support in our fundraising and awareness efforts for the Alzheimer’s Association each year.

In the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Team Dixie earned the title of “Most Money Raised: Family Division” with $4,446 in donations.

We walk because we’re missing a piece of our family, our church, our community.  We walk because we’re missing our mother, our grandmother, our friend.

We walk to support others still living with this disease. We walk because we don’t want more families to go through the pain of losing someone they love in slow motion.

We have sold over 100 special edition #GoPurple #ENDALZ #TexasStrong tees, tanks and hoodies on Teespring, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association on behalf of Team Dixie.
