2015 Gift Guide for Her (And A Linkup)
I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I already have my Christmas cards ready to send out, Christmas music playing on Pandora and most of my online gift shopping done.
(Hey, once Halloween is over, it’s game on, although we don’t decorate until after Thanksgiving.)
I took a look at my own wishlist and decided to put together my first annual Gift Guide for Her. I’m helping you find the perfect gifts for your girlfriends, your mom, your aunt, your sister, your daughter, or even yourself.
If you’re smart, I mean, brave, you could also send this link to your hubby 😉
You will see a lot of gold and polka dots, and sometimes even gold polka dots, on this list. This season, gold and polka dots are on point!
2015 Gift Guide for Her
- Ornaments – I love giving my girlfriends pretty Christmas ornaments, knowing that they’ll think of our friendship each year as they hang them on the tree. This glitzy pair is from Nordstrom (gold pinecone) and Macy’s (Lenox 2015 Snowflake).
- Office accessories – Have I mentioned that gold and polka dots are trending now? Kate Spade has a whole line of swoon worthy gold dot pencil pouches, note pads and more.
- Tea cup and tea – This pretty gold dot tea cup is from H&M, and the seasonal tea trio is from Williams-Sonoma, but your giftable cup and tea possibilities are endless. Think World Market, Target or Pier 1.
- Makeup – I love fun new makeup, especially in a convenient palette. Stila Cosmetics and Tarte Cosmetics are always tops on my list, but, obviously, you’ll want to customize the cosmetics to your recipient’s coloring and beauty style.
- Pretty planner – My For the Love launch team sister, Corie Clark, designs the gorgeous Purposeful Planner in several sizes and formats. The Daily Holly Floral is at the top of my wishlist this year.
- Jewelry for a cause – I just purchased my first Noonday Collection jewelry–these sterling and brass earrings made in Peru–last month and was recently introduced to a similar jewelry company for good, 31 Bits, through StitchFix:
We implemented a five-year holistic development program in Uganda, where each woman receives health education, finance training, counseling, and business training. She belongs to a community where she can earn an income, be educated, and dream for her future. After five years in our program, the women graduate, leaving with an education, a career, social equity, confidence, and a voice. We now have 120 women in our program whose lives are changed. Their children’s lives are changed. Their community is changed. And we got to be a part of it!
And while we’re on the subject of gold things, I’m offering special edition GOLD #texasstrong shirts for holiday gift giving.
100% of proceeds benefit central Texas-based Rafiki Africa Ministries, providing the love of Jesus, education, healthcare and family style housing for orphaned, homeless and abused children in Uganda.
Gift Guide for the Foodie
- Kitchen/tea towels – Kitchen towels are a great stocking stuffer and a cute and inexpensive way to dress up her kitchen. This culinary-themed pair is from Target and Nordstrom Rack.
- Kitchen tools/gadgets – Another great stocking stuffer is handy kitchen tools. One of my personal favorites I think every chef needs is the Microplane grater-zester.
- Cookbooks – You should obviously tailor the cookbook selection to your recipient’s taste (and any diet restrictions) but Clean Slate, from the editors of Martha Stewart Living, caught my attention.
- Apron – Baking is always more fun in a cute apron. This red and white polka dot number is from Target.
- Recipe book – Every cook needs a place to record personal recipes and notes. This colorful recipe book from Kate Spade is just too cute to pass up.
- Cutting board/butcher block – Nothing is better for a home chef than a good quality cutting board, except, of course, good quality knives. This Boos chopping block even comes with a slot for her favorite knife.
Another great gift for every lady on your list, but especially those who enjoy food and fellowship is Jen Hatmaker’s latest book, For the Love: Fighting for Grace in a World of Impossible Standards.
I was a member of Jen’s For the Love launch team this summer and got to party at her house in September. Her book is a hilarious and heartfelt must-read, complete with a few of Jen’s favorite recipes for hosting your own supper club.
Gift Guide for the Gardener
- Ceramic compost keeper – This one from Target is stylish enough to sit on any kitchen counter.
- Garden-themed tea towels – (See kitchen towel comments above.) This pretty botanical pair is from Domino.
- Rain boots – Let’s be honest, every girl needs rain boots. These adorable Joules polka dot wellies are from Nordstrom.
- Gardening gloves – I bought these cute, but practical, Target Threshold gloves on clearance this summer. They keep my hands clean in style.
- Outdoor skin care – I cannot say enough nice things about Sierra Sage Herbs. I love all of their products, but especially their bug spray and Green Goo first aid ointment.
- Potting bench – This bench is from Target but I have a very similar one from Sam’s Club that my in laws gave me for my birthday this year. It takes my gardening to new heights (pun intended) and doubles as a bar for outdoor entertaining.
Gift Guide for the Gym Junkie
- Headbands – Skinny headbands are the perfect stocking stuffer for the yogi or athlete on your list.
- Yoga mat and towel – I fell for the colors of this Dot & Bo yoga mat. I love the practicality of the Sweaty Betty yoga towel.
- Glass water bottle – Leave it to Kate Spade to make a glass water bottle gorgeous.
- Sports/yoga bra – I love the fun colors and simplicity of the Nike sports bra. And I dig the comfort and style of the Sweaty Betty bamboo padded yoga bra.
- Athletic shoes – I would run if I had Nike polka dot running shoes in my life. Enough said.
- Food and exercise journal – Kikki-K is sort of the gold standard for planners and journals, at least according to Instagram. I think this one is perfect for the health-conscious ladies on your list.
