My 2016 Mother’s Day Gift Guide (and a Giveaway)

Want to help your hubby pamper you or show your own mom you care this Mother’s Day? Here’s a Mother’s Day gift guide with some luxurious gift ideas.

I attended a pre-screening of the cute, new Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson movie, Mother’s Day, with one of my best friends last night.

SPOILER ALERT: Her Mother’s Day gift from her younger son is a potato decorated with buttons. Yep, he gives her a homemade Mr. Potato Head. She graciously accepts this whimsical and heartfelt present, of course, because her kid made it.

Mug and tea

There are so many adorable mugs on Etsy that it was hard to pick just one for this gift guide. I love the colorful, floral “Home is where your Mom is” label on this wild berry plum green tea from The Republic of Tea.

(If Mom doesn’t like tea, you can always give her a bag of her favorite coffee instead.)

Phone case

There are so many styles and colors of phone cases to choose from on Casetify. You’re sure to find one that fits your mom’s personality and phone type. You can also create a custom phone case using photos of her babes.

Handmade jewelry

I’m in love with these repurposed leather “be still & know” double wrap bracelets from my friend Danielle Brower at Create Hope Cuffs. She also makes a peach version that says, “just breathe.”

Danielle donates a portion of her profits from each cuff sold to help orphaned and vulnerable children in Swaziland, Africa. She created this bison leather “love of dixie” mockingbird cuff, with all proceeds benefiting Alzheimer’s Texas, in celebration of my Sweet Grandma book launch.

Sandals and nail polish

Make sure your mom is summer ready with a gorgeous pair of sandals (I love these golden Kate Spade Gladiators!) and pretty polish for her toes.

If you really want to treat your mom, include a gift certificate for a pedicure at her favorite spa or nail salon.

Throw pillow

Spruce up Mom’s office or bedroom with a pretty pillow that suits her style. World Market, Pier 1, and Etsy are good places to find lovely throw pillows.

Notebook or journal

If your mom’s a writer, tuck a gift certificate for a day or weekend away to practice her craft into a cute journal.

I love this spiral notebook from Sadie Robertson’s collection for DaySpring*, but you’ll want to choose one that fits Mom’s personality and include her favorite pens.

Coloring book and colored pencils

There are so many great coloring books to choose from these days with floral, art deco and even Scripture themes. (This Secret Garden Artist’s Edition Coloring Book makes a great gift for the garden-loving mother in your life.)

Be sure to include a nice set of colored pencils along with the book.

Candle

A clean-burning, soy wax Mason jar candle in a scent Mom loves is always a nice addition to her kitchen or powder room. This aqua Paddywax Relish Jar Ocean Tide and Sea Salt Candle is a perfect gift for the beach-loving mother in your life.

Update (4/29/16): The winner of the autographed copy of my new children's book, Where Did My Sweet Grandma Go?: A Preschooler's Guide to Losing a Loved One, is Sherri S.
